If you've been in a motorcycle accident in Singapore, follow this exact sequence — what to do at the scene, how to file a report, insurance steps, and important hotlines.
If anyone is injured: Call 995 (ambulance) immediately. Do not move seriously injured persons unless in immediate danger.
🚨 Ensure Safety First
Move to the side of the road if possible. Switch on hazard lights. Do NOT remove your helmet if you suspect head/neck injury. Call 995 (ambulance) if anyone is injured.
👮 Call the Police
For accidents involving injury or if parties cannot agree on liability, call 999. For minor accidents with no injury, file an e-report within 24 hours at any police station or via the SPF app.
📸 Document Everything
Photograph all vehicles, damage, licence plates, road markings, traffic signs, skid marks, and the overall scene from multiple angles before moving vehicles. This is critical for insurance claims.
📝 Exchange Information
Get: name, NRIC/FIN, phone number, vehicle plate number, insurance company and policy number from all parties involved. Note the time, location, and weather conditions.
🏥 See a Doctor
Even if you feel fine, see a doctor within 24 hours. Adrenaline masks pain. Some injuries (internal bleeding, concussion) aren't immediately obvious. A medical report is required for injury claims.
📞 Notify Your Insurer
Notify your insurance company within 24 hours even if you're not making a claim. Most policies require this. Use your insurer's hotline or report via their app.
